My Workout Playlist

Howdy.  This morning I was sitting at 250lbs.  So there's been no change in a few days.  That might coincide with the fact that I hadn't been to the gym in a few days, either.  Funny how that works.  Nonetheless, I think it would be a real shot in the arm to wake up to 249 on that scale tomorrow.  You know, just the whole mental aspect of dipping into the 240's.

To that end, I went to the gym today.  I stayed the better part of two hours and burned 1064 calories on the eliptical and did 50 stomach crunches.  Sitting here now, I'm soaking wet with sweat, but I feel great.  Why is it that you have to talk yourself into going to the gym, but once you're done working out, you feel great?

Anyway, it hasn't taken me long to realize that man's best friend at the gym is his iPod.  It makes the time go by much faster, and it allows you to take your eyes off that calorie counter and think about something else.  Here's my iPod workout playlist.  Take it for what it's worth, which may not be much :-)
  1. Dancing Queen by Abba.  I know.  Who would have guessed this one, right?
  2. Respect by Aretha Franklin
  3. Think by Aretha Franklin
  4. Who Says You Can't Go Home by Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles
  5. Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler.  I can't even explain this one.
  6. Summer of '69 by Bryan Adams.  This my favorite song ever.
  7. Sweet Southern Comfort by Buddy Jewell
  8. Tubthumping by Chumbawamba
  9. Small Town Saturday Night by Hal Ketchum
  10. Califormia Gurls by Katy Perry.  Bet you wouldn't have guessed that one either.
  11. Walking in Memphis by Lonestar
  12. Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
  13. Party in the U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus.  Nope, that's not a typo.  It has a good beat.
  14. Awesome God by Rich Mullins
  15. The Road Goes On Forever by Robert Earl Keen
  16. All Star by Smashmouth
  17. Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band
Hope this offered a suggestion or two on what you could add to your gym playlist.  Happy pound shedding!!
